Sample diet to lower cholesterol

This sample diet to lower cholesterol is based on a study which showed that the effectiveness of a cholesterol lowering diet was almost equal to taking a statin drug (which is designed to medically lower cholesterol).

After 4 weeks, the lower-your-cholesterol diet reduced LDL cholesterol by 28.6%, compared to the statin drug which reduced LDL cholesterol by an average of 30.9%. It’s quite amazing for a diet to have almost as much effect on cholesterol levels as a drug!

This is an example of a daily meal plan that participants used whilst on the diet therapy to lower cholesterol. Snacks did not have to be eaten between meals, they could be taken with meals if desired.
